The Baku Transport Agency hosted an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the tragedy of January 20. The event was held in honor of the heroic sons of the homeland who sacrificed their lives for the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of our country. A film about the events of January 20 was shown. Speaking at the event, the head of the office of the Baku Transport Agency Gulshan Rzayeva noted that on January 20, the Azerbaijani people, subjected to military, political and moral aggression of the Soviet regime, demonstrated their commitment to the history of heroism. The sons of the motherland who died for the defense of justice in Azerbaijan left a memory of the heroic history of our people in Bloody January.

It was emphasized that after the return of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, to the country's leadership, the essence of the events of January 20, 1994 was revealed on his initiative and direct participation, he gave a political and legal assessment, and the names of the perpetrators were made public. The day after the tragedy, the Great Leader threatened his life and arrived at the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan in Moscow, publicly condemned the organizers of the bloody tragedy and made a bold statement to the international community. Later, at the initiative of a national leader, the Supreme Council of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic first gave a political assessment of the tragedy of January 20. It was noted that events are held annually to commemorate the victims of this tragedy at the state level, the truth about these events is communicated to the world community, and President Ilham Aliyev successfully pursues this policy.

The people of Azerbaijan highly value the heroic sons and events are held to honor their memory on January 20.
